We used a set of RIFAb by lowell, softlights. You could also try a bounce or reflector.

I’m using to 500 …
I’m using to 500 halogens to light the screen, a 300 watt to light my back, a 500 watt halogen on a reflective board along with a 150 daylight bulb to light the talent. My biggest problem is shadows at the talent’s feet. Lighting the part they stand on is driving me crazy. Maybe it would be worth my time to buy those lights you have. The are very adjustable and soft.

we rarely use on camera mic, we usually use a Sennheiser 100 wireless we also use a Sennheiser boom mic as in the dleta blues video.
The XLH 1’s on camera mic does work well when needed though.
